Jerry
Wennstrom is an artist, author of "The
Inspired Heart: An Artist's Journey of Transformation"
and subject of Parabola/Sentient Publications
documentary videos, "In the Hands of
Alchemy.” He lectures and offers film
presentations internationally.
In
the late 1970s, Jerry was a rising star in
the New York art world when he realized his
identity as an artist became too small a container
and set out to discover the rock-bottom truth
of his life. He destroyed his large body of
art, gave away his possessions and spent the
next 15 years living in the moment, surrendered
to unconditional trust. Transformed, he re-emerged
a more complete human being and artist, creating
an entirely new body of art, grounded in a
larger perspective. His current artworks are
large interactive sculptures made of carved
cedar, mechanical devices and found objects.
His art is featured in the film “Mythic
Journeys” by Steven and Whitney Boe
and his unusual life story is currently being
made into a full-length feature film by the
award wining Danish filmmaker Hans Fabian
Wullenweber.
