Lisa
Orlet is currently head volleyball coach at
Althoff Catholic High in Belleville, Illinois.
Orlet joined the St. Louis University program
after a successful high school coaching career.
For the previous six years, she served as
the head coach at Incarnate Word Academy in
St. Louis. The Red Knights captured the Missouri
Class 4A state title in 2003, 2004 and 2005
while also posting top-four finishes in 2002
and 2007. After her stint with IWA, Lisa joined
the St. Louis University athletic program
for a brief period prior to her taking her
current position with Althoff where she could
be closer to home and her own children.
Individually, Orlet has also received numerous
accolades. In 2004, she was awarded an ESPY
for Best Local High School Coach (for all
sports in St. Louis). Orlet earned Coach of
the Year honors from 2003 to 2005 and received
the 2005 Peggy Johnson Award for excellence
in coaching.
Her coaching career also extends to the club
circuit where she has served as a coach for
16 years, in addition to guiding USA High
Performance programs for six years.
Orlet, formerly Lisa Patterson, was a member
of the Kansas volleyball team from 1987-90.
She was named to the 1990 Big 8 Conference
All-Tournament Team. Orlet holds the Jayhawks'
program record for total attempts in five
games with 80 at Oklahoma in 1990.
Orlet's career record is 225-36.
Orlet is pursuing a master's degree in educational
counseling at SLU. She and her husband, Jim,
have four children, Mia (6), George (5), Teddy
(3) and Gabby (2).
