Kate
Dendrinos and Shawn Rickel were introduced
by friends in May of 2002. They shared a passion
for helping others and working with horses
and decided to start an equine therapy business
together. On August 4th of that year, they
spent the day riding motorcycles with their
friend Fredo Yorba looking at properties on
which to start their business. While returning
home, and less than a mile from Shawn’s
townhouse, they would be in an accident that
would forever change their lives. They’re
here today to share their miraculous story
– a story of love, hope, and never giving
up.
Shawn
played football in high school and college
and was an aspiring pro football player until
a broken back ended his career. He has a degree
in Marketing from West Texas A&M. He worked
in the hospitality industry (Chisholm Trail
Ranch) and as a mortgage broker. He is a also

Kate
